Morrès…..the story

Morrès is a Dutch rock-trio from  Arnhem-Nijmegen, founded in 2013.

Johan Volman: Bass & keys
Thomas Calis: drums & backing vocals
Anco Koens: guitars & lead vocals

A powerful rhythm section with strong vocals and melodic guitar lines, lots of energy and dynamics, from powerful rock songs to fragile ballads. The Police meets Muse.

Highlights are a live performance on national radio at Veronica’s Countdown Café and the release of the album Still in 2015 en A good day in 2017.

With the addition of drummer Thomas in 2016 Morrès became the rock-trio they are now. New music was written for the next EP called A Good Day containing 5 songs.
A Good Day has become an EP with 4 rock tracks and a ballad. Generally the music has a cheerful, energetic fibe. The lyrics however are about subjects like loss but at the same time they are an ode to life itself.
The EP was presented in LuxorLive in Arnhem on  September 15 2017.  Along with the worldwide release of the record  the single “Once” was launched..

In 2017 Morrès and guitarist Matt Willems teamed up for another new project:, organizing a tour in Germany  – and some performances in the Netherlands.
Matt and Anco have known each other for years and have worked together in bands and projects before. Since Matt lives in Germany, the connection with a project in Germany was of course quickly made.
Recently, Morrès and Matt decided to separate this project from Morrès under the name Super Traveller.

Morrès is now working on new material and preparing for upcoming gigs.
Stay tuned!

“… A roaring rhythm section with powerful bass lines and tight drum beats. Strong, pure vocals, energy and experience. A pinch of alt-rock and sympho, great lyrics and subjects. Whether or not moved or shaken this leads to a core of melodic power pop in which fragile ballads are not shouted.”

LivePodium.nl
“… a band with a massive sound, melodic pop. The word that crossed my mind is ‘bombastic’ but maybe I’m going too far. The three men formation has brought us an EP that is worthwhile”
